Buy Chili – The World's Full Intensity

Whether mild, medium-hot, or fiery: chili is one of the most versatile spices in the kitchen. Since 1981, The Spice Shop has offered a carefully curated selection of chilies in all forms – ground, smoked, as flakes, and as whole pods. Discover the full range and find exactly the chili that suits your dishes.

Understanding Heat Levels – The Scoville Scale

The heat of chili is measured on the Scoville scale. The higher the SHU value (Scoville Heat Units), the more intense the heat. Our chilies are clearly marked with their heat level – from 1/10 for mild varieties to 10/10 for extreme heat.

For orientation: Mild paprika chilies are under 1,000 SHU, jalapeño-based chilies like Chipotle are 2,500–8,000 SHU, Habanero already at 100,000–350,000 SHU. This way, you can quickly find the right heat level for your kitchen – without unpleasant surprises.

Chili Ground, Smoked, or as Flakes

Ground chili can be quickly and evenly incorporated into sauces, marinades, and spice blends. Chipotle Chili – a smoked jalapeño – brings not only heat but also a characteristic smoky note to BBQ dishes, stews, and bowls.

Chili flakes are ideal if you want to add heat precisely: simply sprinkle over pizza, pasta, or finished dishes. Ground Habanero is suitable for those seeking intense heat with a fruity aroma – classic in Caribbean and Mexican dishes.
