Good to know
Green cardamom is one of the oldest traded spices and was already considered a luxury good in antiquity. It is an integral part of Indian cuisine, for example in chai and biryani, and of the Arabic coffee ceremony. In Scandinavia, it is traditionally used for sweet baked goods, while in the Middle East it often appears in rice and meat dishes. Its high price and versatility have earned it the reputation of “king of spices.”
