Origin and Production

"WARMING HERBAL TEA WITH INDIAN SPICES".
LOOSE TEA BLEND – NOT IN TEA BAGS. / Note: Contains liquorice.

This herbal tea blend combines Indian spices with liquorice root, galangal root, and crushed nutmeg. Ceylon cinnamon bark, peeled ginger, cardamom, cloves, zedoary root, and black pepper form the strong spice base, while liquorice and galangal round off the blend.

Taste and Aroma

The taste is spicy, warming, and slightly sweet. Cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves give the blend a classic spiced tea note. Ginger, galangal, and black pepper add a mild spiciness. Galangal is related to ginger but is milder, slightly spicy, and pleasantly sweet. Liquorice root adds a natural sweetness, while nutmeg provides a warm, round depth.

Application

Ideal as a strong herbal tea, spiced tea, or as a base for a tea-like chai without classic black tea.

For one cup, pour boiling water over 1–2 teaspoons of the loose tea blend and let steep for 8–10 minutes. Drink plain to taste or refine with milk, a plant-based drink, or a little honey.

Interesting Facts

Spiced tea blends have a long tradition in India. Typical ingredients such as cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and pepper are often used there for warming infusions. This blend goes in a similar direction but remains a herbal and spiced tea blend without classic black tea.

Liquorice root is frequently used in tea blends for its natural sweetness. Galangal root brings a milder, slightly spicy ginger note and pairs very well with cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, and nutmeg.

Ingredients
