Buy Curry Blends – Authentic Recipes from Around the World

Curry is not a single spice – it's a composition. Depending on the region, tradition, and dish, the blends vary significantly: An Indian Madras Curry tastes completely different from a Thai Green Curry or a Japanese Curry. Since 1981, The Spice Shop has offered a carefully curated selection of curry blends that reflect authentic cuisines – no generic products.

What's in a Curry Blend?

A classic curry blend consists of several harmonized spices. Typical ingredients include turmeric, coriander, cumin, fenugreek, chili, pepper, and ginger. Depending on the origin, further components are added: cardamom and cinnamon for sweeter variations, roasted mustard seeds for more depth, coconut or tamarind in South Indian blends.

What distinguishes our curry blends: All ingredients are individually selected and assembled in our own production. No fillers, no artificial colors – only what belongs in an honest curry blend.

Indian, Thai, Japanese – Which Curry Suits What?

Indian curry blends like Garam Masala or Madras Curry are the base for classic curries with chicken, lamb, or chickpeas. They pair excellently with Basmati rice and naan bread.

Thai curry pastes and blends are characterized by lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime. They work ideally with coconut milk, tofu, seafood, and vegetables.

Japanese curry is milder, slightly sweet, and has a thicker texture – ideal for curry rice with carrots, potatoes, and onions.
