Origin and special features
“ FOR TAGINES, COUSCOUS AND MOROCCAN CUISINE ”.
Ras el Hanout is a traditional spice blend from Morocco and is considered the heart of North African cuisine. The name means "Chef's Special"—a tribute to the finest spices a merchant has to offer. Depending on the recipe, Ras el Hanout contains up to 50 different ingredients, including rose petals, peppercorns, and nutmeg. Each blend is unique and reflects the culinary diversity of North Africa.
Taste and aroma
Sweet, spicy, floral, and warm – Ras el Hanout combines all these aromas into a harmonious, deep flavor. Cinnamon, cardamom, and turmeric provide a delicate warmth, while rose petals and vanilla add an elegant, floral sweetness. The result is a balanced, exotic aroma with a gentle spiciness.
Application
Ideal for Moroccan tagines, couscous, lamb and vegetable dishes. One teaspoon per serving is enough to enhance braised dishes, stews or rice. Especially good in combination with dried fruit, nuts or honey. Also perfect for marinating meat or for oriental dips.
