Origin and production
“ FOR VIBRANT LATIN AMERICAN CUISINE ”.
This intensely colored blend originates from the Yucatán region of Mexico and is based on the traditional recipe for Recado Rojo. Its foundation is ground achiote seeds, combined with spices such as cumin, coriander, and oregano. These spices give the condiment its earthy depth and characteristic reddish hue, typical of many Mexican dishes.
Taste and aroma
Spicy, warm, and slightly smoky. The achiote seeds provide a mild, nutty base, while cumin and coriander add depth and warmth. Oregano and cloves round out the blend with a delicate, herbaceous-sweet note.
Application
Ideal for traditional dishes like Cochinita Pibil or as a marinade for pork, chicken, and fish. Simply mix with a little lemon or orange juice and oil to form a paste, rub into the meat, and let it marinate for several hours. Also perfect for stews, grilled food, or rice dishes.
