Tellicherry pepper is one of the highest quality pepper varieties, originating from the Tellicherry region on the Malabar coast of India. This pepper variety is harvested in the final weeks of the ripening season, allowing the berries to fully ripen and develop their particularly intense and aromatic flavor. The berries are dried in the sun, which further flavors the pepper and gives it its characteristic black color. Tellicherry pepper is considered particularly refined and is often used in fine cuisine.
